About Me
I have played the piano from the age of six. Having passed grade VIII piano at fourteen learning from Daphne Hilliar in Chelmsford, I gained a BA(Hons) in Music at Colchester Institute, majoring in performance and studio technology.
After graduation I played in cruise ship bands and had many varied engagements including accompanying Willard White and working as audition and rehearsal pianist for Disney shows in the West End.
After some years in the wilderness working in finance and accounts, I went back to making music full-time in 2009.
My recent engagements have involved:
- accompanying BSO auditions
- preparing backing tracks, organising the band and liaising with the production team as MD for an upcoming show at The Lighthouse, Poole
- MD'ing a local pantomime and a show
- making backing tracks for a theatre company comedy show
- transcribing a rock opera on Sibelius
- practicing for LTCL diploma.
Some musical snippets:
Piano solo - Root Beer Rag (Billy Joel)
Piano solo - Etude in G#m (Rachmaninov)
For no good reason, here is my equipment list.
